Communications Physics is an “open access journal from Nature Portfolio publishing high-quality research, reviews and commentary in all areas of physics”, where published papers “represent significant advances bringing new insight to a specialized area of research” and indeed are rewarded with a high impact-factor publication.

In November 2023, Dr. Cristina Rea was honored with the Outstanding Reviewer Award for the detailed and constructive peer-review carried out as part as her constant service to the Scientific Community as a referee for Disruption Research publications.

Dr. Elena Belsole, Chief Editor for Communications Physics, explained the decision in an email to Dr. Rea. “Each month we like to publicly acknowledge an outstanding reviewer for their advice. We look to thank reviewers who offered constructive, fair-minded, insightful remarks which we feel were of exceptional value to the authors and indeed the editors. Your advice regarding the manuscript above certainly meets these criteria in light of the in-depth assessment you provided when we asked you to act as a referee. Your report was integral to us reaching a final decision and we were particularly impressed with the details of your report and the support you have afforded to the authors in marking up specific points in their paper. We therefore would like to thank you as an outstanding reviewer the month.”

Dr. Rea would like to congratulate her colleagues who authored the above-mentioned manuscript, titled Disruption prediction for future tokamaks using parameter-based transfer learning, and reiterates her commitment to provide exceptional peer-reviews in the interest of manuscript authors, journal editors, and scientific readers. A partial record of Dr. Rea’s manuscript-reviewing efforts is summarized under the “Peer Review” tab on her Web of Science profile.
